Overland Duo
Tae Yeon Lim is a native of South Korea, has appeared across North America, Europe and Asia, as a recitalist and concerto soloist. She participated in the International Summer Academy of Mozarteum in Salzburg; Beijing International Music Festival, where she won the concerto competition; and International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City. In South Korea, she performed with Sorisam Chamber Orchestra and Kyung-Hee University Symphony. She also debuted at Sejong Hall as a member of Chosun Journal Young Artist Series and won the first prize in the Busan Duo-piano competition. In the United States, she continued her piano studies with Phillip Kawin, Kumi Ogano, and renowned pianist James Tocco as a scholarship student at the Manhattan School of Music. Ms. Lim completed her studies at the University of Southern California, Thornton School of Music receiving the William H. Phillips and Beatrice C. Phillips Music Scholarship and Doctor of Musical Arts Degree with Stewart Gordon.She won the Special Award at the MPE Loeb Competition and semifinalist at American Prize piano solo in 2015. Recently, She performed Beethoven Piano concerto no.4 with Vicente Chamber Orchestra in Santa Monica. she currently serves as a music director/organist at St Timothy's Church in Los Angeles.
Mark Bassett earned his cello performance degree at the New England
Conservatory of Music. He also has a degree in music education from
the College of St.Rose in Albany, New York. As a freelance musician,
Mark has played with many orchestras and chamber groups including
Philidelphia String Quartet, Calder Quartet, South Florida Symphony
and Fresno Philharmonic. Mark's passion for video game music has led
him to be principle cellist for Legend of Zelda:Symphony of the
Goddess tour, and tour with the Final Fantasy: Distant Worlds tour. As
a studio musician, He has been part of many soundtracks including AAA
games such as Final Fantasy 12 and 15 and indie games such as
Deluvion. As an active music educator, Mark currently teaches cello,
violin, and bass privately and with the West Coast Music Academy.
