Evan Johanson
Evan Johanson had his orchestral debut with the Seattle Symphony after winning the Seattle Symphony Young Artist Award in 2015. Evan is a recipient of the 2016 Music of Remembrance/David Tonkonogui Memorial Award, first place winner of the 2016 Simon-Fiset SMTA (senior division), and the winner of the Seattle Young Artist Concerto Competition Winner. Other concerto appearances include the Seattle Youth Symphony, Philharmonia Northwest, Eastside Symphony, and Seattle Festival Orchestra. Most recently, he substituted with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. He is also a member of the American Youth Symphony in Los Angeles. Evan has spent his summers touring Latin America, Europe, and China in 2017, 2016, and 2015 respectively with the National Youth Orchestra of the United States of America. In 2016, Evan was selected to participate in The New York String Orchestra Seminar of Mannes College with director Jamie Laredo. An avid chamber musician, Evan has attended the Meadowmount School of Music and participated in the Seattle Conservatory Chamber Music Program. Currently, Evan is a Bachelor of Music candidate at the Colburn School studying with Robert Lipsett. Previous teachers include Simon James, Judith Ingolfsson, Margaret Pressley.
